Rules

  • All competitors should enter the open auditions by requesting a time slot at entries@talent-northwest.co.uk
  • Closing date for entries and time slots for the auditions Saturday 9th August 2008
  • An entry form must be completed. This can either be downloaded or completed on arrival at the open auditions from www.talent-northwest.co.uk by clicking here Word, PDF
  • Competitors must bring a photo to the open auditions. Individual entries should bring a passport photo and group entries should bring a group photo, judges will not see those without a photo and completed form
  • All under 16’s photos will be help by Local child welfare officer Mr. P Clarke
  • And returned if requested at the end of the final competition
  • Those that attend the open auditions without arranging in advance will only be seen by the judges time permitting 
  • The same group must perform at all rounds of the competition, however substitutions can be made in the case of sickness, however the Events Team must be notified before the event
  • A competitor can only enter 1 of the categories of the contest
  • Those who do not follow the correct entry procedure can not be promised an opportunity to be seen by the judges at the auditions
  • The judges decision is final, judges will not discuss decisions with participants or their parents or representatives
  • All competitors/coaches and supporters should remember that fair play and giving young people the opportunity to develop their talent is at the heart of the competition, if judges or staff feel anyone is working against this ethic they will not be put through to the next round
  • Any disputes should be made in writing to The Events Team at the email address shown
  • Feedback will be provided if requested 
  • Please ensure all lyrics and dance music in the 8-16’s category is suitable for a family audience, those with unsuitable music or lyrics will not be put forward to the next round
  • PA with CD facility only will be supplied at the competition 
  • At the following rounds of the competition, competitors will contacted by telephone or email regarding requirements and performance time
  • New material can be performed at different rounds of the competition
  • At the auditions, if competitors requires a backing track or music this should be in CD format, labeled clearly with the track number on the case 
  • At the auditions each act will be given a 4 minutes slot to perform only
  • Those singing must use a microphone
  • Dance competitors can only have a maximum of 12 people performing
  • Bands
  • Equipment available will be a PA system 
  • Bands will have 10 minute time slot for the audition
  • There will be a minimum of 3 judges
  • Each judge will have experience and background in entertainment
  • Judges will mark on ability, stage presence, originality, presentation and star quality, however this criteria can be amended by the judges prior to the start of the competition and any heat or semi final
  • Judges will be supplied with mark sheets and will be asked to mark and write comments.
